Wofford College - South Carolina Visiting assistant professor position for the upcoming academic year, in the economics department. Preference will be shown to those with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory microeconomics and managerial economics. The standard teaching load for a VAP would be 3/3. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand, or be ABD in an economics doctoral program by the start date (TBD, though the pre-term meetings will likely be the week of Aug. 25-31). Candidates with ABD will be at the “visiting instructor” rank.
Interested candidates should submit a CV, cover letter, teaching portfolio (teaching statement, course evaluations, and syllabi as applicable) and three letters of reference through JOE. (This is brand new, so at this writing we have not yet posted this on JOE. That official ad will become available soon.) Review of applications will begin May 17, and continue until the position is filled. Until such time as the JOE ad appears, direct questions to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The JOE ad will contain the official language about welcoming applications from those who may contribute to the diversity goals of the college. There is the strong possibility that a tenure-track search will be carried out in the next 1-3 years to permanently fill this teaching position.
